Hard testing is only necessary if there are modifications made to the fire alarm system or elevaor controls. The existing fire alarm system shall be modified to be provided with an additional signal to the elevator control equipment to indicate that the smoke sensor in the elevator machine room or top of the elevator hoistway has been activated so the elevator control system can additionally blink the fireman's hat jewel inside the car as required by code. It is suggested the modifications be made and tested in conjunction with the elevator contractor and inspector. | 2/22/2019 | |
