This elevator has never previously been inspected and several deficiencies were found. Chief Inspector was informed of the situation and has asked for more information along with the installation date to determine if this unit falls under the State of Missouri's jurisdiction. After some research it was determined this unit was installed in 1957 and is subject to the Elevator Safety Act. The unit was not initially red tagged as the installation date was in question. Now that the installation date is known this elevator is red tagged and locked out of service until a full inspection can be completed and the elevator is compliant with the applicable codes. Unit Red Tagged on 2/7/2024.
