A17.1-2016 : Elevators	4.2 - Hoistway doors	8.10.2.2.4(b)	x	The basement floor has an iron gate attached to the door frame. A key is required to open this gate, thus restricting a person from exiting the elevator at that floor. If the elevator was to fall and get stuck at that floor a person or persons would be entrapped. This is a safety hazard, remove the gate. Doors shall not lock any landing opening in the hoistway enclosure from the hoistway side nor lock any exit leading from any hoistway landing to outside of the building.	11/15/2022
