This elevator is equipped with an overspeed valve that in not sealed. A category 5 test shall be performed on the overspeed valve on or before the next annual inspection. The valve shall be sealed and tagged after the category 5 test.

Emergency/standby power shall be tested. Note: The unit has an indicator light and key-switch for emergency power. Building personnel were unsure if this unit is served by a generator in the case of a grid failure. If it is, it shall be tested. If it isn't, the related fixture shall be removed.

8.11.2.2.6 Firefighters’ Emergency Operation (Re-Inspection)

When the hall fire recall key-switch is in the "ON" position, or an initiation device has been activated, a stopped car shall have the in-car stop switch rendered inoperative as soon as the car moves away from the landing. A moving car shall have the switch rendered inoperative without delay. Note: The acceptance tests were witnessed by St. Louis County last month. The code data plate is marked for compliance with A17.1-2013, as required by St. Louis County. A17.1-2013 requires the switch to be rendered inoperative. A17.1-2016 (the current MO State code) does not.
