Governor safety rope pull out exceeds 42" maximum allowable (60" is the pull out). Verify safety rope is made of corrosion resistant/non-magnetic metal (bronze, brass, etc). Appears to be steel rope and is magnetic. Must be repaired and reinspection required before returning to service. Elevator RED TAGGED.

8.6.1.6 General Maintenance Methods

This elevator previously had the ability to operate on standby/emergency power. The generator has now been disconnected but may be re-connected at some point. So long as the elevator does not operate on standby/emergency power, the emergency power fixture at the egress floor for this car shall be removed or covered. If/when the elevators are re-connected to the emergency generator, the emergency power indicator jewel shall be re-installed and standby/emergency power operation of the elevators shall be tested.
