Emergency lowering shall be operational. (2nd Notice) Note: This has been reported as a deficiency for the last several years. When operating on emergency lowering, the elevator is trying to run up (pump motor contactor is energized) which is isn't able to do, and also isn't designed to do. It appears this may be a problem introduced when the emergency lowering unit was added to this elevator.
