The elevator machine and control equipment shall be located in a separate room or separated space designed as an elevator machine room or space and shall be accessible only to authorized personnel. Where other existing machines and equipment essential to the operation and purpose of the building are located in the machine room or space, the elevator related equipment and machines shall be separated by a substantial grill constructed of non-combustible material not less than 6' high and the grill shall be of a design that will reject a ball 2" in diameter. All rooms or enclosures shall have a self-closing and self-locking door and shall be operable from the interior space without use of a key.

8.6.5.16.5 Over Speed Valve Testing

This elevator is equipped with an overspeed valve that in not sealed. A category 5 test shall be performed on the overspeed valve on or before the next annual inspection. The valve shall be sealed and tagged after the category 5 test.

8.6.5.5.2 Oil Leakage Collection
|

|
A written record shall be kept of the quantity of hydraulic fluid added to the system and emptied from leakage collection containers and pans, shall not exceed 5 gal before removal, shall be covered, and shall not be permitted to overflow. Note: Per the State of Missouri AHJ: "The use of oil recovery systems to return the hydraulic fluid back into the main reservoir by automatic means or by gravity feed prevents proper monitoring of the gland packing and seals", and "machine rooms cannot be used as containment areas".
