The “smoke guard” barrier device, that was installed on a number of hoistway door landings, has been activated and not reset properly. The device has been temporarily held up by a piece of PVC piping rendering it inoperable in case of an actual emergency. Repair and reset all “smoke guard” barrier devices to operate as designed.
