The “smoke guard” barrier device, that is installed on the bottom hoistway door landing, has been activated and not reset properly. The device has been temporarily held up by a ladder rendering it inoperable in case of an actual emergency. Repair and reset the“smoke guard” barrier device to operate as designed.
