Clearance between car gate and swing type hoistway door is 6". The maximum allowable clearance is 5". The space guard currently on hoistway door does not meet the 40" vertical height requirement. Also the top of the guard shall be beveled 60-75 degrees. Install correst size space guards on all hoistway doors. Rule 5.3.1.7.2
