This elevator is equipped with an over speed valve that in not sealed. A category 5 test shall be performed on the over speed valve in 2021 or 2022. The valve shall be sealed and tagged after the category 5 test.

Per the State of Missouri AHJ: "The use of oil recovery systems to return the hydraulic fluid back into the main reservoir by automatic means or by gravity feed prevents proper monitoring of the gland packing and seals", and "machine rooms cannot be used as containment areas.”

This elevator is equipped with an overspeed valve along with an installation year of 1962. A category 5 test is due on the overspeed valve. The valve shall be tagged and sealed after a successful category 5 test.
