The governor rope needs to be replaced. The rope is showing rust creating an unfavorable wear condition, and the number of wire breaks in one lay exceeds the maximum allowable amount. Elevator left in service because it passed full load testing.

The governor rope needs to be replaced. The governor rope damaged approximately 7' above the dead end on the car top. The steel wire rope(s) shall be replaced if the rope is permanently kinked, bent, or deformed in any way (see 1.10.5).

A Governor rope tag shall be provided, and securely attached to the governor rope fastening.
