When testing the audible signaling device (alarm bell) with the 110V disconnect in the machine room in the “off” position, the device failed to sound, indicating that either the device is not hooked up to a back-up power device or the back-up power device as failed. Clearance between the open car door is not excessive negating the need to remove the elevator from service at this time. Reprogramming and reinspection is required.

This elevator has a backup emergency generator power that is used in case of a power outage. This system shall be scheduled to be tested and a reinspection is required. This requirement is due to the State of Missouri adopting the A17.1 2016 version of the elevator safety code. Reinspection required.
