Hydraulic jack cylinder head packing is leaking excessively. During the 15 minute standing test, the car dropped onto the spring buffers after 5 minutes. Elevator Red-tagged and removed from service. Re-inspection required

Remove scavenger line connected to hydraulic jack that returns oil directly to hydraulic tank in elevator machine room. Oil usage shall be monitored. Remove scavenger line and place into 5 gallon bucket in elevator pit.
