Where an additional power source is connected to the load side of the disconnecting means, the disconnecting means required in Section 620-51 shall be provided with an auxiliary contact that is positively opened mechanically and the opening shall not be solely dependent on springs. This contact shall cause the additional power source to be disconnected from its load when the disconnecting means is in the open position. Note: This function is currently provided by a relay, which isn't allowed, and will not allow the ERU to operate if the power fails because the relay coil is being powered on. When grid power is lost, this relay will de-energize and open it's contact. The contact has to be closed to allow the ERU to operate. The contact is required to be mechanically operated by the main line disconnect, not by the presence or absence of power.
