The auxiliary power lowering operation shall be functional. An uninterruptible power supply for the emergency lowering operation was sitting on the floor of the machine room. When an elevator is equipped with this device, it has to be operational and can't be removed without the permission of the MO AHJ.

The following violation cited in 2023 has not been corrected: The auxiliary power lowering operation shall be functional. An uninterruptible power supply for the emergency lowering operation was sitting on the floor of the machine room. When an elevator is equipped with this device, it has to be operational and can't be removed without the permission of the MO AHJ. Note: This has auxiliary power unit has not yet been re-installed. See MO Memorandum 016 for more information regarding this violation.

8.6.4.14 Hoistway Access Switches

Hoistway access switches shall be maintained. The hoistway access key-switch at the bottom landing in the hallway has a broken bezel and was pushed through the fixture, exposing a hole into the fixture box. It shall be repaired or replaced.
