A major alteration was performed alteration was performed on this elevator in 2005. At the time of the alteration, the adopted code was A17.1 1996 which required that the elevator be brought up to A17.3 and A17.1 1996. This requires that a 110 volt disconnect be installed in the elevator machine room to remove power to the elevator cab lights. There is no 110 volt disconnect in the machine room. Install a 110 volt disconnect for the elevator cab lights that meet or exceed the A17.1 1996 requirements.
