RECOMMENDATIONS - NOT VIOLATIONS: It is strongly recommended that the hoistway doors should have the rigid astragals replaced with non-shearing astragals. It is also recommended to paint the bottom hoistway door panel floor stops and the area underneath the door stops a contrasting color.
