Traveling cables that are suitably supported and protected from physical damage shall be permitted to be run without the use of a raceway. From inside the hoistway, to elevator control enclosures and to elevator car and machine room connections that are located outside the hoistway for a distance not exceeding 6 ft. in length as measured from the first point of support on the elevator car or hoistway wall. Travel cable is run from first point of support to controller without being in suitably protection from physical damage (no raceway) and I am questioning the support itself. (NEC 620.44)

21. When the rope has been seated in the wedge socket by the load on the rope, the wedge shall be visible, and at least two wire-rope retaining clips shall be provided to attach the termination side to the load-carrying side of the rope. The first clip shall be placed a maximum of 4 times the rope diameter above the socket, and the second clip shall be located within 8 times the rope diameter above the first clip. The purpose of the two clips is to retain the wedge and prevent the rope from slipping in the socket should the load on the rope be removed for any reason. The clips shall be designed and installed so that they do not distort or damage the rope in any manner. Need to be able to check spacing of clips, access to pit is not acceptable.

22. Separate pit door, when provided, shall be subject to the following requirements: (a) If the door swings into the pit, it shall be located so that it does not interfere with moving equipment. (b) If the door swings out, and the lowest structural or mechanical part, equipment, or device installed beneath the car platform, except guide shoes or rollers or safety jaw assemblies, projects below the top of the separate pit access door opening when the car is level with the bottom terminal landing (1) an electric contact conforming to 2.26.2.26 shall be provided to prevent operation of the elevator when the door is open (2) the door shall be provided with a vision panel(s) that is glazed with clear wired glass not less than 0.25 in. thick, will reject a ball 6 in. in diameter, and have an area of not more than 47 in. square (c) The door shall provide a minimum opening of 29.5 in. in width and 72 in. in height. (d) The door shall be equipped with a barrier conforming to 2.11.1.2(i), where the door sill is located more than 12 in. above the pit floor. (e) The door shall be self-closing and provided with a spring-type lock arranged to permit the door to be opened from inside of the pit without a key. Such doors shall be kept closed and locked. The key shall be of Group 1 Security.

Walls have not been painted so signage has not been put up.
