2.17.9.4 - The safeties shall operate as required, providing a compressive stopping action on each guide rail and on each side of the guide rail section. After the test was complete, it was apparent that the jaw on the right hand side of the car did not operate.

In elevators provided with Firefighters' emergency operation, a drain or sump pump shall be provided. The sump pump/drain shall have the capacity to remove a minimum of 3,000 gal/hour per elevator. The sump pump does not appear to meet this requirement after calculating for dynamic head.
