1. Elevators with fire service features shall comply with the edition of ASME A17.1 that the elevator was constructed to meet. If the smoke detector at the designated level is activated, the elevator should return to an alternate level designated by the enforcing authorities.

2) A record of callbacks shall be maintained and shall include the description of reported trouble, dates, time, and corrective action(s) taken that are reported by any means to elevator personnel. Ref: 8.6.1.4.2
