8.6.5.5.2 Oil Leakage Collection

There is a oil recovery unit installed in the pit of this elevator designed to return the oil leakage from the packing gland on the cylinder head. The State of Missouri has determined that this device does not suffice for oil leakage and is only allowed for temporary use until the packing gland can be repaired/replaced. Remove the recovery unit after the packing gland has been repaired/replaced and record the oil loss per A17.1 2016 - 8.6.5.5.7

The cab ceiling is of the open egg-crate type, which does not provide protection from the light bulbs should they shatter. The lights shall be guarded by plastic sleeve or some other means to properly protect passengers.

This elevator has an overspeed valve device installed that is not sealed and is now required to have a 5 year full load test performed. This requirement is due to the State of Missouri adopting the A17.1 2016 version of the elevator safety code. Reinspection in 90 days is required.
