The ADA telephone inside the elevator is programmed to be answered by 911 non-emergency dispatch center resulting in a 15 minute delay in establishing communication. While this is not a code violation, the operator at 911 is not trained to answer this phone for two-way communication which is a code violation. To avoid nuisance calls and possible billing for emergency services, correct the programming of this phone to be answered by a monitoring service that is capable of notifying the proper personnel and answering the phone in a timely manner. Your service company is currently Thyssenkrupp Elevator, who does have a service available or a building alarm company.
