Auxiliary battery lowering device (emergency rescue unit) does not work, and shall be repaired. The elevator lowers to the bottom landing but does not open the doors automatically or with the door open button that results in an entrapment. The elevator has been locked out requiring a repair and reinspection before the unit can be returned to service.
